Plugged in Parenting:

Understanding Kids & Technology

with special guest Andrea Davis from Better Screen Time

April 29th and 30th at 12:00 pm PDT

We will meet live via Zoom and replays will be sent to everyone.  Each meeting is an hour long.

We all agree that living in a world with electronics can be tricky both for ourselves and for our children. Absolute abstention from electronics is likely not possible for school-aged children. So how do we keep the balance and keep our children safe?

I would love to say just throw them out and never look back, but in this modern world, this isn’t really a realistic view for kids who are 6 and above. But this doesn’t mean we give them full unfettered access to screens and electronics, but what is the mindset that makes sense for us and our children?

Let’s discuss these ideas over a two-day seminar, all on electronics and their use.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This is for parents of kids who are 18 months to 18 years old.

Kids who are both neurotypical and those who are neurodivergent.

This is for parents who are committed to parenting with connection and who are committed to doing away with punishments and consequences.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Not sure how to talk to your kids about technology? Guest speaker Andrea Davis will lead "The Toolbox" Lesson and model the first tech talk to have with your kids. They’ll learn digital discernment to help them avoid online dangers.

We’ll explore how to live well with kids and electronics—what healthy guidelines look like and how to create more balance at home.

We’ll go over the American Academy of Pediatrics' screen time recommendations and how to apply them in a way that works for your family.

We’ll talk through practical strategies, and answer common questions about managing electronics in everyday life.

Each day includes a Q&A, plus you’ll get a workbook, the AAP guidelines, and our best practices PDF to take with you.

After attending this event,

You will gain practical strategies to guide your children in using technology responsibly, while maintaining healthy screen time habits and technology use. You will learn how to have open, effective conversations with your children about the tech world they navigate daily.

You will also be sent a log in to access the recording of the event!

Michelle's Shift to

Connective Parenting

Michelle has been parenting this way for 13 years, but things didn’t start out so “connected”. She used threats, bribes and yelling herself, but when things seemed out of control with her daughters she decided that a change needed to happen. She luckily found connective parenting and hasn’t used a threat or bribe since, well almost hasn’t!

Since then, Michelle has dedicated her life’s work to helping others find new ways to “be” parents, new ways to respond to hard moments and new ways to promote connection and let go of control parenting. She has done the work and helped thousands of families do the same.

Dive in and have the “aha” moment you are looking for to make the transformation into more balance and calm in your home.
